Originally from Southern California, Mitch began his professional surveying career in 1984. He has spent his career in private practice specializing in the Legal Principles of Boundary Surveying and Mapping. Mitch and his wife have been married almost 30 years, and have three grown children. Away from the office, Mitch has been a volunteer with the youth groups at their church. Mitch has also been an avid volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America serving as a local Scoutmaster in Spokane and camp staff leading 110 mile canoe trips down the Missouri River in Montana.
Mitch has a B.S. in Surveying and Photogrammetry from Fresno State University and a M.S. from Kaplan University. He started Duryea & Associates in 1993, and as President, is responsible for client development, customer service, and quality control. Mitch is licensed in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Hawaii and South Dakota.
Jim grew up in Eastern Oregon on a cattle ranch. He and his wife enjoy most outdoor activities such as boating, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, skiing, rafting, and shooting sports. Jim is also licensed as a commercial pilot with instrument rating and flight instructor. Jim started his surveying career in 1976 after graduating from Oregon Tech. Jim took a leave from surveying, and owned his own log trucking company for 17 years before returning to surveying. His surveying career has taken him to Oregon, Colorado and Washington.
As Project Manager, Jim is responsible for ensuring that projects are on time and meet the requirements of the client. Jim is licensed in Washington and Montana, and an active member of the Land Surveyors of Washington, being past president of the Inland Empire Chapter.
